My
extended project idea is to "Design and develop and application for the
UTC"
The
reason I choose to design and develop application based around the
UTC was because I thought it was a good idea that would challenge me as I don't
know how to code yet, this therefore means that I would have to learn a valued
skill which would help me later in life as it’s a skill that is well
recognized, and it’s something that I would like to have the ability to do as it’s
something I'm interested in doing.(Development and production(creation) of
games, apps and websites)
Another
reason I thought it was a good idea was because you always see everyone glued
to some kind of device (especially the younger generation i.e. the students) so
this would allow them to access the required information such as Teachers email
to send work etc. To see where teacher are i.e. whether or not they're teaching
and where, shows your timetable so you always know where you are/possible
reminder on your lessons, reminder for deadlines on project work/homework so it’s
like the planners most schools make you use that nobody does therefore
wasting paper.And
because this way you always know where you are, what you have to do (Work wise)
so you never forget.
The skills, technology and equipment I would require is-
- The ability to code using HTML and JavaScript
- To be able to create a GUI design
- To create a flow chart
- To create a user story
- Get primary and secondary research.
The
content I would like to include/incorporate into the UTC application are thing
like;
- You need to sign in using
your school account to access the information however this can’t be done
as how the servers have been run in the UTC.
- Your timetable to tell you
you're if you’re supposed to be in a lesson (Tells you where and when i.e.
the time and room).
- Reminders for project
work/Homework deadlines.
- Has contact information on for teacher’s i.e. Their school email so if you don't know it you can find it and send in the desired work or ask for help/ where they are (if they're teaching/when) so you can again give them the required work or ask for help.
How you will distribute it.
I will
try to make it accessible to most students by using HTML and JavaScript to make
it usable for most if not all mobile phone/tablet platforms.
